Cleaning cloth
White vinegar
Soap
Warm water
First & foremost, try to stay vigilant during painting & wipe any spills or drips right away. Wet paint is easy to clean. But despite being proactive about wiping away paint stains, you still manage to get some on your floor, don’t worry; there is a way to clean them up!
The easiest way to remove dried paint from tiles is to scrape it using a razor or plastic scraper. But some paint stains are stubborn & require some tough love. You will need to use household cleaners or homemade ones such as water and white vinegar solution. You can also use WD-40 Multi-use Product to tackle dried paint stains. Always test the cleaning solution on a small area before the whole floor.
After you’ve decided which cleaning solution works the best, apply it to the stains. For WD-40 Multi-Use Products, you can spray it on a clean cloth to apply to the tile surface. If you’re using household cleaners, follow the instructions on the packaging to determine how much to use and how long it should be allowed to sit. For WD-40 MUP, we recommend leaving it on for 10-15 minutes.
After you’ve allowed the chemical to rest for some time, you can start scraping on the affected surfaces using a plastic scraper. Hold the scraper at a 45-degree angle and begin to remove the paint. Do not worry about the glaze damage to your floor tiles, as you can varnish them later after you clean the stains.
When you find that you are satisfied with the result, go ahead and clean the surface with some soap and warm water to remove any leftover residue of the chemicals. Don’t forget to dry the surface using a clean & dry cloth.
